Guwahati: Traditional jewellery-making training from May 12 in city

GUWAHATI: Avas Foundation, in collaboration with Small Industries Development Bank of India, launched “Threads & Beads” – A 15-Day Traditional Jewellery-Making Training programme under its VRIDHI project. The workshop will take place from May 12 to May 26, at Anil Sangha in Bamunimaidan Railway Colony. This immersive programme invites participants to explore heritage jewellery-making techniques passed down through generations, focusing on thread work, beading, knotting, and cultural aesthetics. “Threads & Beads is not just a workshop—it’s a journey into the roots of traditional craftsmanship,” said Kasturi Das, Secretary Avas Foundation. “We are committed to empowering artisans and craft enthusiasts by nurturing skills that preserve cultural identity, stated a press release.”
