GUWAHATI: Three separate robberies took place in the city since Sunday night.
In the first incident, robbers broke into the house of one Narayan Malakar near the Satgaon Police Station while the family was sleeping and looted gold ornaments worth around Rs 20 lakh and Rs 80,000 in cash.
It may be mentioned that several officials of the Satgaon Police Station stay as tenants in Malakar's house.
In the second incident, robbers looted the house of Prabin Deka at Santinagar in Latakata Basistha, in the absence of the family. The robbers decamped with gold ornaments worth around Rs 5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash.
In the last incident, a fish vendor named Satyanarayan Roy lodged a complaint at the Garchuk Police Station, alleging that motorbike-borne miscreants snatched an amount of Rs 28.10 lakh from him at Saukuchi.
