DHUBRI: A total of 4,529 beneficiaries were sanctioned Rs. 47.69 core under self-employment schemes in Dhubri district, and in a Credit Outreach Programme some of the selected beneficiaries were formally handed over the sanctioned letter at Rural Self-Help Employment Training Institute (RSETI) auditorium in Dhubri on Friday.

Speaking in the meeting organized by UCO Bank, a Lead Bank of Dhubri District, Dhubri Development Deputy Commissioner, Kanta Das spoke at length about the government's policy to create employment opportunities for self-reliance.

"I appeal all the self-helf groups of Dhubri district to make best use of this financial assistance and become self reliant while paying back the loan amount regularly at the same time, so that a good relationship develops with financial institutions and then they can take a big amount of loan to grow and expand further," Das explained.

Earlier, Dhubri district Lead Bank Manager, Navin Kumar who anchored the programme elaborately explained about the Credit Outreach Programme which is being held across Assam since October 16 and would continue till October 31.

"64 branches of 17 different banks of Dhubri district are taking part in this Credit Outreach Programme and loan will be sanctioned to the beneficiaries," Kumar added. The meeting was also addressed by Dhubri District Director of Navard, Assistant Director of Handloom and Textile, Monowar Hussain, Dhubri district DICC Manager Nirmal Kumar Das, Director of (RSETI), Pradip Paul and journalist Pranobasish Roy.
