Ankur Sangh organizes Rongali Bihu programme in Hojai, honours elders and meritorious students

HOJAI: "Our culture and traditions teach us to respect our elders," said Anup Kumar Barthakur, General Secretary, Ankur Sangh, during the opening ceremony of the two-day Rongali Bihu programme organized by Ankur Sangh in Bishnupally in Hojai on Saturday.

He emphasized that it is our duty to acquaint the new generation with respect for elders and our cultural heritage, ensuring this sentiment endures. In this vein, elders, including Padma Barthakur, Surendranath Deka, Jagdish Prasad Sureka, Parmodeswar Borkatki, Champa Borkatki, Guru Prasad Borthakur, Himmat Das, Kusheshwar Mudai, Dr Samsul Haque, Lavanya Bora, and Dayal Chandra Kro, were honoured with phulam gamochas and citations.

Students excelling in Class 10 were also felicitated.
