Assam: 4,875 families in Nagaon get approval letters under PMAY-G

In a significant move to provide housing to the needy, the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme has benefited 4,875 families in Nagaon district.

NAGAON: In a significant move to provide housing to the needy, the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme has benefited 4,875 families in Nagaon district. The beneficiaries, from seven assembly constituencies in the district, received approval letters for their new homes ceremonially at a function here today.

The event was part of a statewide programme, where 3,88,358 beneficiaries across Assam received approval letters. The programme was attended by local MLA Dipul Ranjan Sarma, District Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah, and other dignitaries.

Notably, the first instalment of Rs 37,500 will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries starting today. A survey will also be conducted from March 17 to 26 to identify other eligible beneficiaries who were not included in the initial list, an official press note added here.
