KOKRAJHAR: In a significant move to foster cross-border friendship and cultural ties, a delegation of All-Bodo Students Union (ABSU) led by president Dipen Boro had a meeting with the representatives of the Bhutan- India Friendship Association (BIFA) at Gelephu recently. The primary objective of the meeting was to invite distinguished guests and cultural troupes from Bhutan to the 57th annual conference of the ABSU, scheduled to be held at Dotma from March 13 to 16.
ABSU President Dipen Boro said that their discussion with BIFA representatives focused on deepening Indo-Bhutan relations, reinforcing mutual cooperation and ensuring sustainable peace in the Bodoland region and its neighbouring areas.
Boro said that Bhutan and Bodoland shared a historical bond rooted in harmony, trade, and cultural exchange, making such engagements vital for regional stability. He also said that strengthening these ties will not only enrich cultural diversity but also promote goodwill and lasting peace between the two neighbouring regions, ensuring a prosperous future for both communities.
