Assam: ABVP Dibrugarh Honours Meritorious Students with Late Thaneswar Bora Award

The event aimed to celebrate academic excellence and encourage young achievers to pursue their educational goals with dedication and determination.

DIBRUGARH: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Dibrugarh District, organised the Late Thaneswar Bora Award Ceremony at the auditorium of Auniati Satra, Mancotta, Dibrugarh, to honour students who passed the HS and HSLC examinations with distinction.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr Joydev Gogoi, Principal of Kanoi Commerce College; Uday Sankar Gogoi, ABVP State Vice President; and Simanta Kumar Baishya, State Joint Organising Secretary. The event aimed to celebrate academic excellence and encourage young achievers to pursue their educational goals with dedication and determination.

Similarly, the students who scored excellent results in the Matriculation and Higher Secondary Examinations 2025 were honoured with the Late Budharmal Khetawat Smriti Samman by the JB Industries family in the Lions Club auditorium earlier in June.

On this occasion, the Principal of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Apurba Das, who attended as the chief guest, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp amid the Deep Mantra. The guests paid floral tribute to the portrait of Late Budharmal Khetawat amid the song Naam Ghosha by Hemanta Bardalai.

Meanwhile, the founder president of the Koch-Rajbangshi Sahitya Sabha, the late Arun Kumar Ray, was posthumously honoured with the "Brave Silaray Award" for the year 2025.

The award was presented by Minister Pijush Hazarika during the 515th World Mahaveer Silaray Day celebrations earlier in February. The event took place at the Secretariat of the Kamtapur Autonomous Council in North Salma in Bongaigaon, Assam.
