DIBRUGARH: All seven aides of Amritpal Singh were taken to Punjab via Dibrugarh Airport after they were handed over to Punjab Police.
Today, the whole process of transferring the seven aides of Amritpal Singh was completed. They were released from Dibrugarh Central Jail and handed over to a 25-member Punjab Police team led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Harinder Singh Gill.
The transferred seven accused include Daljit Singh Kalsi, Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala, Harjit Singh, Bhagwant Singh alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke, Basant Singh, and Gurinderpal Singh. Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala, Bhagwant Singh alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke, and Basant Singh were transported on IndiGo flight 6E 2561, which departed from Dibrugarh at 10:10 AM. Daljit Singh Kalsi, Harjit Singh, Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, and Gurinderpal Singh were taken on IndiGo flight 6E 6604 at 2:20 PM. Meanwhile, Amritpal Singh, along with Papalpreet Singh and Varinder Singh Johal, will continue to be held under NSA, with their detention scheduled to expire in June 2025.
The move comes as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab Government decided not to reinvoke the NSA against the seven Waris Punjab De members, whose two-year detention period expired yesterday.
