KALAIGAON: Under the patronage of Balipara Netaji Juvak Sangha, the 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was celebrated in the premises of Balipara Netaji Juvak Sangha on Thursday as 'Parakram Divas.'. The day-long programme started with a tricolour flag hoisting, which was hoisted by Dipak Das, secretary of Netaji Juvak Sangha. After the flag hoisting, followers of Netaji offered flowers to Netaji's statue. On the occasion, an open meeting was held, and this was presided over by Harakanta Das. Addressing the gathering, one educationist, Madhab Das, spoke about the ideology of Netaji. He also said that the celebration was aimed at inspiring the youths with the life and philosophy of the great leader Subhash Chandra Bose. Several noted persons, like Debashish Mandal, secretary of the Udalguri District Committee, All Assam Bengali Youth Student Federation (AABYSF); journalist Arun Sarma; and other dignitaries took part in this function.
