Assam: Bilasipara Library Hosts Literary Evening Honoring Sahitya Akademi Awardee Samir Tanti

DHUBRI: The Bilasipara Sub-Divisional Public Library hosted a literary evening on Friday, featuring poems by Samir Tanti, a recently awarded by Sahitya Akademi.

The event was anchored by Dhananjay Singh, an emerging poet from Bilasipara, who recited several of Tanti’s poems.

The event included a discussion on Tanti’s poetic style and themes, participated by notable personalities such as Dr. Haricharan Das, Altaf Hussain Ahmed, Dr. Mujammil Haque, and Purandar Nath.

Dhananjay Kashyap recited his self-composed satirical poem “Bike”. Journalist Dayal Pal recited a poem he wrote about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

During the event, it was decided to publish a special issue of the library’s magazine, “Agantuk”, as an honour to Samir Tanti.
