Assam: Blood donation by AIOCD enters Guinness Book of Records

AIOCD entered the Guinness Book of Records for collecting 80,243 blood units in a single-day donation drive across India.

SIVASAGAR: The All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) Association achieved a historic milestone by entering the Guinness Book of Records for organizing a single-day blood donation drive that collected a staggering 80,243 units of blood across India. Marking its golden jubilee, AIOCD conducted this initiative nationwide, including a significant event in Sivasagar, Assam, organized by the Sivasagar District Medicine Dealers Association.

The blood donation camp in Sivasagar was held at the Jaydayal Khemka Matri Seva Sadan in the heart of Sivasagar town on Friday. The event was inaugurated by social worker Pradip Khemka, who lit the ceremonial lamp. In his speech, Khemka emphasized the importance of blood donation, calling it a noble act that saves lives. He praised the district medicine dealers for their commendable initiative.

Sivasagar District Medicine Dealers Association played a vital role in witnessing this historic occasion. The camp was attended by officials, staff, and members of the pharmaceutical community.

The association’s President Chandrasekhar Sharma also participated in the grand event.
