KOKRAJHAR: Nestled in the heart of Assam, Bodoland is a land of enchanting natural beauty, vibrant culture, and diverse wildlife. This untapped paradise was the centrepiece of Bodoland Tourism’s participation at the 12th International Tourism Mart held in Kaziranga. Led by BTC Executive Member for Tourism, Dr. Dharma Narayan Das and BTR CHD for Tourism, Jayanta Sharma, the Bodoland delegation showcased the region’s tourism potential through an exhibition stall. The stall highlighted the pristine landscapes of Manas and Raimona national parks, the cultural richness of indigenous communities, and initiatives in eco-tourism and adventure tourism. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, along with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Assam Ministers Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta, and Jayanta Mallabaruah visited the Bodoland Tourism stall and applauded its efforts in promoting the region’s heritage and natural treasures.
Interacting with the tourists, BTC EM Dr. Dharma Narayan Das remarked, “Bodoland is a hidden jewel of India, offering unparalleled natural beauty, cultural diversity, and unique tourism experiences.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the Bodoland Mohatsav held in New Delhi on November 15, had praised Assam’s tourism sector, saying, “Assam is a great strength of India’s tourism sector, while Bodoland is the strength of Assam’s tourism.” Inspired by this recognition, the BTR government, under BTC Chief Pramod Boro, has been implementing innovative strategies to unlock the full tourism potential of Bodoland.
