Assam: Bokakhat subdivision ready for May 2 Panchayat election

The Bokakhat subdivision administration is fully prepared for the upcoming first phase of the Panchayat election scheduled to be held on May 2.

BOKAKHAT: The Bokakhat subdivision administration is fully prepared for the upcoming first phase of the Panchayat election scheduled to be held on May 2. In the 2025 Panchayat election, the total number of voters in Bokakhat subdivision stands at 139,267. Among them, 68,934 are male voters and 70,333 are female voters.

To ensure smooth conduct of the election process, the Bokakhat subdivision has been divided into 4 zones and 20 sectors. Voting will take place at a total of 204 polling stations in Bokakhat. Out of these, 39 polling stations will be managed entirely by female officials.

A total of 816 Presiding and Polling Officers have been assigned for the election duty in Bokakhat. Additionally, 100 Presiding and Polling Officers have been kept in reserve.

The Bokakhat subdivision includes 4 Zila Parishads and 1 Anchalik Panchayat. Election will be held in 20 Gaon Panchayats within the subdivision. Notably, as per the announcement by the State Election Commission, the Panchayat election in Bokakhat Subdivision will be conducted in the first phase on May 2. Voting will take place from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM on that day. The counting of votes is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM on May 11. This time, the Panchayat election voting process will be conducted using ballot papers.
