Assam CM Reviews Key Development Projects In Demow, Stresses Swift Execution

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a review meeting at the CM Secretariat in Dibrugarh to assess the progress of key development initiatives in Demow Constituency.

DIBRUGARH: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a review meeting at the CM Secretariat in Dibrugarh to assess the progress of key development initiatives in Demow Constituency.

During the meeting, key discussions on the construction of a new approach road to medical colleges & cancer institutes, the development of water bodies in Foklia Beel, the proposed embankment for floodwater diversion during monsoon and the construction of a new district jail were included.

CM Sarma further reviewed the ongoing infrastructure projects across PWD (roads and housing), water resources, urban affairs, energy, panchayats & rural development, health, public health, education, agriculture, industry, finance and disaster management.

Additionally, CM Sarma emphasized the need for swift execution to maximize public benefits by assessing the progress of medical colleges and hospitals in Sivasagar; workday creation and project implementation under PMAY-G and MGNREGA; and implementation of PM-JAY, ABHA ID generation, and the Nijut Moina Scheme under Health & Family Welfare.

Earlier, CM Sarma chaired a meeting with the PWD (B) Department at Lok Sewa Bhawan on February 28 to review the progress of several key infrastructure projects across the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the status of major ongoing projects, including the indoor stadium and playground development at GMCH, co-district commissioners' offices, the Gauhati High Court building in Guwahati, the FIFA-standard football ground at Nehru Stadium, the boundary wall and external road construction for AEC in Jalukbari and Khanikar Stadium in Dibrugarh.
