DHUBRI: As part of the 12-day development programme, cycles, scooties, and Anundoram Borooah awards were distributed among students at Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Maidan here on Thursday.
Addressing the meeting as the chief guest, State Agricultural Minister Atul Bora said that students are the future of the nation, and various schemes are being implemented for their benefit and development, emphasis being laid on quality education. “With the cycles and scooties, students will get immense help in their movement to schools and colleges from homes. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, development is underway in various sectors, including education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and agriculture,” Bora added.
Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath in his speech said that the government provides free cycles to reduce dropout rates and increase enrollment among girl students. “Scooters are awarded to students scoring 60% or above in the Higher Secondary Examination and 75% or above for boys. The Anundoram Borooah Award provides cash incentives to students who pass the High School Leaving Certificate Examination with first division,” he further said.
