Assam: DC Dibakar Nath inaugurated two-day Kishan Mela in Dhubri

Two-day Kishan Mela gets underway in the premises of Dhubri District Agriculture Office, was inaugurated by Dhubri District Commissioner, Dibakar Nath on Thursday.

DHUBRI: Two-day Kishan Mela gets underway in the premises of Dhubri District Agriculture Office, was inaugurated by Dhubri District Commissioner, Dibakar Nath on Thursday.

Nearly 21 stalls of farmers’ group displayed their agriculture produces, beside this agriculture department put up a demonstration of different kinds micro irrigation for agriculture cultivation to enhance the production.

Farmers from Chagolia Part II under Agomoni Agriculture Development Block of Dhubri District, Mukul Chandra Barman displayed variety of mushrooms produced by him while Rabindra Barman put up a huge bottle gourd, pumpkin and other vegetable in his stall.

Abu Lahel Baky with others from Birsingjarua block of Dhubri District cultivated multi crops in 200 bighas of land including bitter gourd, pumpkin (weighing between 32 to 38 kg), high quality of kul bogori (jujabe) displayed produces.

From Dhubri District Veterinary office livestock of foreign countries like African French Mondian, Hungarian House pigeon and English Fantail pigeon too showcased in the Kishan Mela, Ranjit Ree of veterinary department informed.

In the stall of Ali Akbar Sheikh variety of millets and honey produced in Birsingjarua char village displayed on counter while Agriculture allied department demonstrated micro irrigation apparatus, and apart from this, 5 floriculturists put up their seedlings with blooming flowers.

In addition, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Sarat Chandra Sinha Agriculture College of Dhubri District came out with various book, booklets, leaflets and other publication on improving agriculture production to help the farmers.
