KOKRAJHAR: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chirang, in collaboration with Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), inaugurated a street play titled “Surokhito Axomar Babe Bator Nat-2.0” to raise awareness at the Sidli Revenue Circle Office on Wednesday.
The special skit was flagged off by Arup Choudhury, ADC and CEO of DDMA, Chirang, for 10 vulnerable areas across the Sidli Circle, educating the public on how to stay safe during natural calamities. The sources also said the mass awareness drive will also be organized in the other two circles of the district, Bijni and Bengtol, covering 10 selected areas in each for a period of three weeks.
Designed to engage and inform the local population, the street play highlights essential safety practices for floods and lightning. This performance is part of a broader initiative by the DDMA and ASDMA to ensure that communities are better prepared for the devastating impacts of floods and lightning strikes, which have become increasingly common in the region. The initiative aims to build a resilient, well-informed population capable of responding effectively to the challenges posed by these natural disasters.
