GUWAHATI: Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhry visited the BSF Guwahati Frontier on Tuesday to review the operational preparedness and security measures along the India-Bangladesh International Border.
During his visit, Chaudhry was briefed by Inspector General Sanjay Gaur, senior BSF officials, and staff officers on the current security scenario and ongoing efforts to tackle cross-border crimes, including illegal infiltration, smuggling, and human trafficking.
Chaudhry praised the dedication and tireless efforts of BSF personnel in ensuring the security of the border, especially amid the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. He emphasized the importance of vigilance in maintaining the integrity of the border and highlighted the challenges posed by seasonal conditions like fog and heavy rainfall, which make monitoring even more difficult. Despite these challenges, BSF personnel remain on duty 24/7.
To enhance surveillance, the BSF has deployed advanced technology, including CCTV cameras and sensors, to monitor vulnerable stretches of the border. Despite the difficulties, BSF personnel continue to work around the clock to prevent illegal infiltration, smuggling, and human trafficking activities and ensure border security.
The Director General reiterated the BSF’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of the nation, urging all personnel to remain alert and continue their exemplary efforts in securing the border.
