DIBRUGARH: The SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter in collaboration with Heritage Club of DHSK Commerce College, organised a Workshop Demonstration programme under the SRF National Classical Series on Saturday.
The programme featured Sri Anjan Saha, an empanelled sitarist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, SPIC MACAY Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, along with Nabarun Dutta on the Tabla.
The programme began with an address by Dr. Rajee Konwarh, Chairperson of SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter, highlighting the aim of SPIC MACAY and the mission of the Workshop Demonstration Series. She mentioned that the Dibrugarh chapter has been conducting this series from March 24 and so far it has successfully conducted workshops in 11 educational institutions of Dibrugarh. Sitar maestro Anjan Saha along with Nabarun Dutta on the Tabla, began their performance by thanking SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter and DHSK Commerce College for hosting them.
The artistes performed Raga Bhairavi, an Indian classical raga and also performed Bhupen Hazarika’s timeless number, “Manuhe Manuhor Baabe” among others. The artistes engaged in an interaction with the audience, that included volunteers of SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter, students, teachers and members of the non-teaching staff. On behalf of SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter, Dr. Rajee Konwarh felicitated the artistes and the Principal of the college, Dr. Joydev Gogoi. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal of the college, Dr. Joydev Gogoi.
