DHUBRI: Dhubri branch of Axom Sahity Xabha celebrates its foundation day at the Xabha Bhawan here on Friday. The event began with the hoisting of the flag by Dhubri Sahitya Xabha, president Udyan Chakraborty.
The event included offering tributes to the founders of Axom Sahitya Xabha, Padmanath Gohain Baruah and Sarat Chandra Goswami led by former president of Dhubri Sahitya Xabha, Lutfur Rahman and poet Sarbeswar Barkalita.
A discussion session followed where speakers Lutfur Rahman, Sarbeswar Barkalita, Zakir Hussain, and Ranjit Ghosh shared their insights on the contributions of the xabha to Assamese language, literature, and culture.
The event concluded with a speech by president Udyan Chakraborty followed by a cultural programme featuring Assamese music performances.
