DIGBOI: The National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC), a technical support institution with National Health Mission under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has accorded the National Quality Certification to Digboi Community Health Centre (CHC) upon qualifying in all necessary parameters scoring 89.33 percent. This was informed by the office bearers of the hospital management committee on Tuesday morning.
Only two CHCs including the one in Digboi in Tinsukia district and Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon were recognized with the certification after they managed to score 89.33 and 84.67 percent respectively during the assessment conducted in December 2024 and January 2025 chronologically.
The Labour Room and related facilities therein at Digboi had undergone external assessment by the NHSRC empanelled NQAS (National Quality Assurance Standards) assessors earlier in December 2024. “Hence, the Labour Room in the said Public Health Facilities in the State of Assam are granted Provisional Certification for a period of one year,” reads the copy of the letter addressed to Mission Director, NHM.
It is expected that the state will prepare Maternity Operation Theatres in both the qualified facilities and get it certified within one year. Dr Borah, known for her dedication, relentless efforts, and administrative skills, has reportedly escalated the status of the centre with a wider community acceptance.
