KOKRAJHAR: The LAC-level Jhumoir Binandini workshop under 4 No. Baokhungri LAC in Kokrajhar was inaugurated by EM Wilson Hasda, marking the launch of an ambitious cultural initiative under the Cultural Affairs department of the Government of Assam. The four-day workshop, scheduled to conclude on January 31, is aimed at celebrating, preserving, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Assam through the traditional Jhumoir dance and related practices.

The workshop highlights the significance of Jhumoir, a traditional dance form deeply rooted in Assam’s cultural identity, by bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds to learn and engage with this cherished art form. 

During the inauguration, EM Wilson Hasda interacted with participants, commending their enthusiasm and commitment to safeguarding the region’s traditions. He emphasized the role of such initiatives in preserving cultural vibrancy and encouraging skill development.

Assistant Commissioner Dhrubajyoti Das, along with other officials and dignitaries, graced the event, offering their support to the programme.
