JAMUGURIHAT: A medical team under the North Jamuguri BPHC conducted a fogging drive in Jamidari Chuk of Jamugurihat and other adjoining villages of Jamugurihat on Thursday. The medical team also disinfected mosquito nets of the local residents. The medical team also conducted a fogging drive on Wednesday evening and disinfected mosquito nets of the villagers. It is to be mentioned here that the eruption of Japanese Encephalitis in the state has created panic among the villagers. As a precautionary measure, the medical team conducted the fogging drive and disinfection of mosquito nets of the local residents. The medical team had also conducted awareness programmes in the villages to enlighten people on the causes and precautionary measures to prevent the eruption of JE. It is further pertinent to mention here that one Arup Nath, a resident of Jamidari Chuk here died of Japanese encephalitis on Friday at GMCH in Guwahati.
