Assam: Free mega health camp conducted in Sonitpur district

A free multi-specialty health camp was held at Sankar Mandir Namghar, Dhekiajuli, promoting public health and awareness in Sonitpur district.

DHEKIAJULI: In a commendable initiative to promote public health and awareness, a free multi-specialty health check-up camp was successfully conducted on Wednesday at the premises of Sankar Mandir Namghar, Ward No. 8, Shaheed Nagari, Dhekiajuli, under Sonitpur district. The camp, organized jointly by Kidney Hospital IOKD (Institute of Kidney Diseases) and the Sankar Mandir Namghar Committee, saw an enthusiastic turnout from the local community.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Dhruva Kumar Bora, President of the Namghar Managing Committee, who praised the noble effort in bringing quality healthcare to the doorstep of the common people.

The highlight of the camp was the presence of renowned Urology Specialist and Chief Director of IOKD, Dr Arup Kumar Nath, who led the medical team. Dr Nath was supported by a dedicated group of professionals including Dr Baharul Islam, Pronab Dihingia, Pronab Deka, Sanjeev Sahu, and Konkon Sharma.

More than 50 patients availed free consultation and diagnostic services during the camp. Dr Nath offered specialized advice and treatment related to kidney stones, prostate disorders, kidney failure, urinary complications in both men and women, cancers related to the kidney, bladder and prostate, as well as male reproductive health issues. Along with medical consultation, awareness on preventive care and early diagnosis was emphasized, making the camp not just a treatment platform but also an educational one. Dr Nath and his team urged people to prioritize regular check-ups and stay informed about kidney and urological health.

The camp concluded with gratitude from the local residents and organizers alike, with a collective appeal to conduct more such initiatives in the future. Events like this underscore the importance of accessible healthcare and the power of community-driven wellness programmes.
