Assam: KNPTR hosts 17th Nature Orientation Initiative camp at Biswanath Chariali

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, East Sonitpur Forest Division has organized the 17th Nature Orientation Initiative for three days at Biswanath Chariali from today. It is known that this trip was started by Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in 2007. The aim of the residential camp is to provide training to the students about the conservation of wildlife. About 600 students who participated in the camp have already provided assistance to the Forest Department in various ways. These students have been providing a lot of help to the Forest Department during floods or during the movement of wildlife or poachers.

This is the first time that a three-day residential forest camp has been organized at the SIPRD office in Biswanath Chariali. More than 100 trainees participated in the training. During the training, the trainees will also get an opportunity to conduct field studies.

The camp was inaugurated by Biswanath MLA Pramod Barthakur, District Superintendent of Police Subhashish Barua, Kaziranga National Park Director Sunali Ghosh, East Sonitpur Forest Division Officer Biswajit Das, Wildlife Authority Officer Khagesh Pegu, Social Forestry Officer Sumitra Das, and Secretary General of Aranyak Dr Bibhav Kumar Talukdar.

A state-of-the-art Force Company Vehicle service was also launched on the occasion to show the tourists the natural beauty and wildlife of the northern part of Kaziranga.
