Nagaon: Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Nagaon, in view of its Pratistha Diwas on Friday, in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Department of Education, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University (MSSV), Nagaon, organized a lecture series on the topic, “Indian Knowledge Tradition” in the auditorium of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University, in which a large number of dignitaries along with students of the university were present. Invited as the keynote speaker of this lecture series, the Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Guwahati University, Dr. Sudaksha Bhattacharya, threw light on the Indian Knowledge Tradition in detail. While giving his pithy views on the said subject, She said that the main objective of the National Education Policy 2020 is to make every Indian understand Indianness by taking the caravan of the Indian Knowledge Tradition forward. She said that the mantras of Sanskrit are not limited to worship, havan-yagya only, but the creative power of science is present in each of its mantras. Due to the disappearance of the Indian Knowledge Tradition, we have gone millions of miles away from our mental development. He said that the Indian knowledge tradition inspires us from the creativity of science to economics, towards cultured knowledge. It is worth noting that during his speech, he emphasized on relevance and prosperity and their integration in contemporary education. It is worth mentioning that before this, the program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Dr. Bappa Ranjan Das of Nagaon College and Secretary of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal explained the objective of the meeting and Dr. Triveni Saikia Bora, of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University, recited the motto. At the beginning of the meeting, the main speaker was honored by the Principal of Khagrijan College, Dr. Ramesh Nath and the Controller of Examinations of Nagaon College, Dr.Rana Kumar Sanjay Singh, by presenting a phulam gamchha and a bouquet of flowers. The meeting ended with Shanti Paath.
