Assam Minister Sanjoy Kishan Visits Dima Hasao, Reviews Development Projects and Tourism Potential

Assam Minister of State, Tea Tribe and Labour Welfare Sanjoy Kishan was on his two-day visit to Dima Hasao. This is his first visit after his reassignment as guardian minister for this district.

Haflong: Assam Minister of State, Tea Tribe and Labour Welfare Sanjoy Kishan was on his two-day visit to Dima Hasao. This is his first visit after his reassignment as guardian minister for this district.

As the part of the visit the Minister visited Nanadisa and Saron village under Mahur constituency accompanied by NCHAC Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa and Executive Member Probita Johori and officers.  The visit aimed to access the progress of Model Anganwadi Centres building and discuss the requirement to complete the building.

A review meeting was held at the conference hall of the Council Secretariat to take stock of the progress of works and schemes undertaken by the state government as well as the council authority including Jal Jeevan Mission, Education, Agriculture etc.

Simultaneously a meeting on the 7th Finance Commission was also held jointly where Chairman of 7th Assam State Finance Commission Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Rana Pratap Kalita was present. The meeting primarily focused on the 7th Finance Commission and discussed on various parameters for considering a special dispensation for only hills district in Assam. They also looked into the areas of scopes for promotion of tourism sector.

A power point presentation briefing the geographical feature and about the district and council was given by the Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu. Principal Secretary of NCHAC normal sector, Rajit Karigapsa was also present.

During his address the Guardian Minister emphasized that tourism sector has a tremendous scope in Dima Hasao and that people will chose this place as their next tourist destination like Kaziranga and Meghalaya. He also ensured to put forward the opportunities with the Assam Tourism Minister in this regard.
