The visit aimed to understand how the school is doing and what needs improvement.
Gunotsav is an important program by the Assam government to improve education in government schools. It works by evaluating schools to find areas where students need help, improving teaching methods, and boosting student performance. The external evaluation is important for giving a fair assessment of the education system and helping plan future improvements.
Meanwhile, earlier last month, State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu had visited two schools in Kahilipara, Guwahati, on January 21, as part of the ongoing Gunotsav 2025. The schools were Faguna Rava High Secondary School and Lakshminath Bezbarua ME School. The students and teachers of Faguna Rava High Secondary School had welcomed the education minister.
The Education Minister had participated in the Gunotsav programme at both schools and had said, “To evaluate the second phase of Gunotsav 2025, I visited Faguna Rava High Secondary School and Lakshminath Bezbarua ME School, both located in Kahilipara, Guwahati. In the second phase, 6,253 external evaluators assessed 14,14,932 students in 15,663 schools.”
