Assam: Programme on ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ organized in Barpeta

The CBC, Field office Barpeta, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized an impactful outreach programme on Saturday at Baniarapara in Barpeta.

Guwahati: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field office Barpeta, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized an impactful outreach programme on Saturday at Baniarapara in Barpeta. The event was centred on the themes of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’, ‘Poshan Abhiyan ’and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ with the primary aim of inspiring action towards cleanliness and environmental sustainability and healthy lifestyles.

 The event saw enthusiastic participation from the local residents who actively engaged in various activities. The programme  included a cleanliness drive, which highlighted the importance of maintaining a hygienic and waste-free environment. Additionally, a tree plantation activity was conducted to promote ecological balance, highlighting the importance of nurturing nature and contributing to environmental preservation.

In addition to these initiatives, an on-the-spot quiz competition and a rangoli competition using fruits and vegetables were also organized, further enhancing community participation. Artistes from private registered troupes presented vibrant and creative performances that effectively conveyed the core messages of the campaigns in an engaging and impactful manner.

 The programme was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. A K Sharma, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer, Health department, Barpeta, Partha Pratim Sharma, District Community Mobilizer, National Health Mission, Iyarun Ahmed, District Project Assistant, POSHAN Abhiyan, Social Welfare Department and Jakir Hussain, Assistant professor, Janapriya College, stated a press release.
