DHUBRI: A massive protest rally was organized by Dhubri Lok Jagaran Manch against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh at Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Maidan in Dhubri on Tuesday.
Along with demanding an end to communal violence and atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, hundreds of people staged a sit-in with placards and yelling chants like "Stop atrocities on Hindus" and "Stop violence on Hindus.".
State president of Satra Mahasabha, Jitendra Nath Pradhani joined the protest rally with president of the Dhubri district unit of Biswa Hindu Parishad, Monindra Nath Roy.
President of Dhubri Garia Math, Bishnu Maharaj while addressing the rally spoke on the urgency for restoration of peace in Bangladesh, protection of life and prosperity of Hindus living therein. Apart from them hundreds of followers from Patanjali Yoga Samiti, ISKCON, Art of Living and other Hindu centric organization also participated in the sit-in and rally.
Lok Jagaran Manch also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Prof. Mohammad Yunus, through Dhubri District Administration urging him to take steps to stop violence, save guard the human rights of Hindus and ensure justice for victims of communal atrocities.
DIBRUGARH: The Lok Jagaran Manch of Dibrugarh on Tuesday organized a protest against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, including assaults on ISKCON temples. A march was held from Chowkidingee playground to the District Commissioner’s office holding placards and banners.
The protesters called the attacks intolerable, terming them an assault on the global Hindu community, and urged the Indian government to intervene and stop the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.
“We have staged protest against the Bangladesh government for charging false cases against the Hindus. We demand the Bangladesh government to stop atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh,” said a member of Lok Jagaran Manch.
He said, “Our main demand is to stop atrocities on Hindus and other minority people in Bangladesh. We urge all the Hindus to unite and raise their voices against crime and atrocities committed against the Hindu people living in Bangladesh.”
