SIVASAGAR: A district-level health review meeting was convened at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the Sivasagar District Commissioner’s office today. The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Aayush Garg and focused on assessing the current healthcare scenario in the district.
Additional District Commissioner (Health) Meenakshi Permey extended a warm welcome to all attendees and elaborated on the key objectives of the meeting. She emphasized the importance of regular reviews in ensuring effective healthcare service delivery and identifying areas that require improvement.
The meeting was moderated by Dr Makhan Kalita, Joint Director of Health Services, who provided a comprehensive overview of the district’s health status. Various health indicators were discussed in detail, including maternal and child health, immunization coverage, disease control programmes, and infrastructure development in healthcare facilities.
During the review, officials evaluated the progress of ongoing healthcare initiatives and identified challenges faced by the health department in implementing various schemes. Strategies to enhance the efficiency of primary healthcare centers, improve patient care, and strengthen disease surveillance mechanisms were also deliberated upon.
Several key decisions were taken regarding the allocation of resources, deployment of medical personnel, and enhancement of healthcare infrastructure. The meeting also addressed ways to improve coordination among different health agencies to ensure seamless service delivery to the public. Barnali Khatiwara, Assistant Commissioner of Sivasagar, senior officials from the District Health Department, and all members of the District Health Society were present in the meeting.
