Sibsagar Commerce College takes immense pride in the extraordinary achievements of their NCC cadets, who have showcased their talent, discipline and perseverance at national-level events in 2024.

SIVASAGAR: Sibsagar Commerce College takes immense pride in the extraordinary achievements of their NCC cadets, who have showcased their talent, discipline and perseverance at various prestigious national-level events in 2024. From excelling in Republic Day celebrations to proving their mettle in marathons, trekking, and sailing expeditions, these students have brought great honour to the institution.

The All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2024, held at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, witnessed remarkable performances by the cadets. Cadet Trishna Gogoi showcased her skills in Semaphore, Boat Pulling, and Service Subject events, while Cadet Hitesh Pareek also excelled in Semaphore and Service Subject. Their dedication to naval training was evident in their commendable performances.

In the Republic Day celebrations, Cadet Gourav Jyoti Chutia brought immense pride to the region by participating in the Republic Day 2024 Guard of Honour. His efforts were recognized with the prestigious ADG Award, a testament to his unwavering discipline and commitment. Additionally, Cadet Bitupon Sensua displayed exemplary skills by participating in the All India Guard of Honour at Republic Day Camp 2025, while Cadet Debasis Gogoi proudly participated in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025. Their participation at such esteemed national events underscores the high standards upheld by the NCC unit of Sibsagar Commerce College.

The cadets also demonstrated their exceptional endurance and adventurous spirit in sporting and trekking events. In the Kokrajhar SNIC Half Marathon 2024, Cadet Abinash Sahu and Cadet Sujit Poria participated in the 5 km category, while Cadet Debasis Gogoi showcased incredible stamina by completing the 21 km marathon. Meanwhile, Cadet Anamika Gogoi embraced the thrill of adventure by participating in a trekking camp held in Shillong.

Adding to these achievements, Cadet Captain Supriya Singh and Cadet Trishna Gogoi participated in the Special Sailing Expedition as part of the RDC 2024-25 activities. Their involvement in such challenging expeditions highlights their resilience and commitment to excellence.

The Principal of the college Dr Saumar Jyoti Mahanta appreciated the cadets for bringing glory to the institution with their remarkable performances in their respective fields. Earlier as well, cadets have been awarded the NCC ‘C’ Certificate and have achieved significant milestones at the national level. Their perseverance and commitment continue to inspire their peers and stand as a source of pride for the entire college community, informed Dr Mahanta.
