GUWAHATI: 1st Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Sonapur, under the Civic Action Programme in the Northeastern Region, organized “Mega Vaccination & Animal Health Camp jointly with the Animal Husbandry Veterinary Department, Golaghat, at Gulung Temera village, Golaghat (Assam), in the jurisdiction of “D” Coy Halmira, Golaghat.
This camp was organized under the guidance of Sunil Kaushik, Commandant, 1st BN SSB Sonapur. During this veterinary camp, a total of 340 animals were examined and treated.
Further, free medicines were distributed to 70 villagers. In addition to administering treatment, the camps also provide guidance on how to prevent future infections, such as improving hygiene, ensuring proper nutrition, and vaccinating animals against certain diseases. Local villagers have praised the initiative, urging the authorities to increase the numbers of such programmes in the future, which are vital for village economies and livelihoods, stated a press release.
