GUWAHATI: Tension has arisen in Assam's Bihpuria after a suspected case of a gunshot was reported in Sonari village.
A bullet was found on the veranda of a villager, Chandra Biswas, and the villagers were concerned.
The bullet has been thought to have passed through the tin roof of Biswas' home before coming to rest on the veranda, indicating that it could have been shot from close proximity.
But the source of the gunshot as well as its purpose are not yet known.
Local police quickly responded to the news of the finding and initiated an investigation. Officials are currently trying to ascertain if the bullet was an accidental discharge, celebratory fire, or a deliberate action.
The probe has been initiated, and more information is expected.
