Morigaon: With an aim to motivate the students, the head teacher of Sukdal Sarubori ME School under Bhurbandha Education Block, Papul Das, has initiated the Head Teacher’s Special Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship is awarded annually to students of Classes VI and VII who secure top ranks in their annual examinations.
For the academic year 2025-26, two students Chitralekha Das and Nikhil Mithi received the special scholarship for their outstanding performance. The scheme was formally launched in a well-attended function held at the school, in the presence of the Inspector of Schools, Morigaon, teachers, guardians, and students.
In another innovative step to foster reading habits among students beyond the curriculum, Head Teacher Papul Das has also set up a tree library on the school campus.
Bookshelves have been installed around a tree inside the school premises, housing a collection of fairy tales, fables, poems, and storybooks.
This initiative benefits all 92 students from Classes I to VIII, as well as the four teachers of the school.
The tree library has created a vibrant reading atmosphere, especially during leisure hours, and has become a source of inspiration for both students and teachers.
