DOOMDOOMA: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Civil Supplies and Social Justice Banwarilal Burma, who came on a visit to Tinsukia district on Tuesday, visited the technology park at Borguri, ration card shop at Bajaltoli, Adarsha Anganwadi Centre at Lonpuria, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) houses at Dimaruguri Nunpuria, Amrit Sarovar at Borguri, and garbage disposal center at Tingrai.
He took stock of the progress and effectiveness of these schemes. Then in the evening, a meeting was held at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s office to review the development works of the district.
Narrating the idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thinking and working methods, he said that the Prime Minister wanted the development of every region of the country. He urged all the politicians and bureaucrats of the district to work as a team. The meeting was attended by District Commissioner Swapneel Paul who briefed the participants about the progress of the central schemes being implemented in the district. The meeting was also attended by former minister and local MLA Sanjay Kishan, Moran Autonomous Council (MAC) Chief Executive Arunjyoti Moran and senior officers of the district administration and of all the departments.
The minister then addressed a press conference and spoke about the purpose of his visit and his experience. Minister Burma spent the night at Tinsukia Circuit House and inspected several schemes today morning.
He officially inaugurated a permanent center for the physically challenged people, ‘Mission Thoughtful Tinsukia,’ at Tinsukia Civil Hospital today. He also visited the senior citizens’ residence in Bardoloi Nagar.
