TANGLA: As part of an initiative led by BTC Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro under the Urban Development Department of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Government’s student welfare programme, Tangla Municipal Board Chairman Kamal Chowdhury on Friday distributed water flask bottles among students of government schools in and around Tangla town in Udalguri district. The distribution drive focused on students up to Class 7, aiming to promote health and hygiene awareness among young children while also addressing the need for safe drinking water during school hours. Speaking on the occasion, Kamal Chowdhury said the move reflects the BTR administration’s commitment to improving basic facilities for students and ensuring their well-being.
“A small step like this can go a long way in teaching children the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining personal hygiene,” he added. Teachers and local residents welcomed the gesture, calling it a thoughtful initiative that directly benefits children in government-run schools.
