PALASBARI: The 3-day AICTE Vaani workshop on “Low-Power VLSI Design: Driving India’s Semiconductor Progress” successfully concluded recently at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Girijananda Chowdhury University.
The workshop, held from December 16 to December 18, aimed to provide participants with cutting-edge knowledge and hands-on experience in the emerging field of low-power VLSI design, which is critical for India’s semiconductor industry.
The event attracted a diverse group of enthusiastic participants from universities and colleges across the region. The sessions, delivered by renowned experts from both academia and industry, focused on various aspects of VLSI technology, with a special emphasis on low-power design techniques, semiconductor devices, and analogue circuit design.
The workshop featured a range of insightful sessions over three days. In the inaugural session, Dr. Anindita Bora, Head of the Department and Coordinator of the Workshop, explains the objective of the workshop along with the motive of the AICTE VAANI scheme.
The AICTE VAANI initiative promotes effective communication and knowledge dissemination in local languages, supporting India’s goal of achieving Viksit Bharat 2047 by making technical education more accessible.
This 3-day AICTE Vaani workshop on “Low-Power VLSI Design: Driving India’s Semiconductor Progress” was conducted in the Assamese language. The first day talk, delivered by Jyotirmoy Saikia, DFT R&D, Cadence, introduced the importance of VLSI in driving India’s semiconductor progress. Following the inaugural session, participants engaged in various technical discussions led by distinguished speakers, including Dr. Basab Das (GCU), Dr. Rajesh Saha (NIT Silchar), Dr. Rupam Goswami (Tezpur University), and Prof. Kandarpa Kumar Sarma (Gauhati University). A detailed session by Dr. Saurav Nath, Project Associate-II, C2S, focused on practical approaches to analogue circuit design. The workshop not only offered valuable technical knowledge but also provided ample opportunities for networking and collaboration.
