SRIBHUMI: Sribhumi Police recently organized a workshop for its officers and personnel to educate them about the newly introduced criminal laws: BNS, BNSS, and BSA 2023. The session aimed to provide officers with a better understanding of the updated legal framework.
After the workshop, a written test was conducted to assess the participants' knowledge of the new laws. This initiative is part of the police department's efforts to ensure that all personnel are well-versed in the latest legal procedures and reforms.
Last year, a workshop on the theme of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was organized for police officials in Morigaon district. The event, part of a 100-day campaign and enrollment drive by Sankalp: District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Morigaon, was held at the Mahila Mehfil auditorium.
The workshop aimed to address key issues such as improving the sex ratio, combating gender discrimination, and understanding the components of Mission Shakti. It also focused on handling cases related to women and children and included a plantation activity.
The event was hosted by Binita Bez, Senior Supervisor, and facilitated by Hemanta Kr Das, Superintendent of Police for the Home Department, Morigaon, along with the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) and the HUB team.
In 2023, a district-level workshop on gender sensitization for police personnel was held at the digital classroom of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) in Lakhimpur.
