DOOMDOOMA: World Red Cross Day 2025 was observed at Hapjan Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences (HIN & PMS), Chota Hapjan in Tinsukia district on Thursday. Dr Harinarayan Barkataki, President, Tinsukia District Red Cross Society, hoisted the flag. In his lecture, Dr Barkataki narrated the history of Red Cross society and appealed to all to join the Red Cross.
Another speaker was Bimal Borgohain, a prominent writer and a member of Tinsukia District Red Cross society. He said that a Red Cross society member is ever ready to offer his or her helping hand to people in distress even in dangerous situations.
Senior journalist Amulya Khataniar also spoke on the occasion. On the other hand, Karobi Chutia, Principal, HIN & PMS, explained in detail how one could become a member of the Red Cross society. The meeting was anchored by Pitila Malare and was attended by the teachers and the students of the institute.
