ORANG: In a significant step towards securing the future of students in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has introduced a unique initiative under the “DAHAL” scheme, combining DMIT (Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test) and insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh for each student.
On July 18, nearly 1,000 students underwent the DMIT test at Kabirali Higher Secondary School, located under the Harisinga Council constituency in Udalguri district. The test was conducted for students from Class 5 to Class 12, aimed at identifying individual talents, learning styles, and cognitive abilities to help guide them towards suitable academic and career paths.
The initiative also extends to college and university students, with each of them receiving a Rs 5 lakh insurance policy, as announced by Dr. R.N. Sinha, Chief Advisor of the Advisory Committee overseeing the programme.
“This initiative reflects the BTC’s commitment to holistic student development and future security,” said Dr. Sinha. “We believe that understanding the innate strengths of our children through DMIT will empower them to make informed choices, and the insurance cover provides financial safety in uncertain times.”
