BTC tourism department to send 20 students for hotel management and hospitality course

In a significant initiative for the unemployed youths, the Department of Tourism, BTC is set to send 20 students for the hotel management and hospitality course for the third consecutive year.

KOKRAJHAR: In a significant initiative for the unemployed youths, the Department of Tourism, BTC is set to send 20 students for the hotel management and hospitality course for the third consecutive year. The selected students would be given a free study course for a year and six months training.

In a press meet held on Tuesday at the conference hall of the Tourism department, BTC EM of Tourism Dharma Narayan Das said that the 3rd batch of students for hotel management and hospitality would be sent very shortly after conducting the selection test. He said that the interested students would be able to apply for the one year course on or before July 21 while scrutiny will be on July 25 and declaration of result would be made on July 29. The selected students would be sent to Food and Craft Institution, Samaguri in Nagaon for the course. He also said that the students could visit www.bodolandtourism.com for more information.

Das said that the classes would be held from August 4. He said that the outcome of sending students to hotel management and hospitality courses was very satisfactory as most of the students got placements in satisfactory institutions across India.

“This initiative of CEM Pramod Boro is significant in providing jobs to unemployed youths of the region. It’s a great opportunity for the students as hotel management and hospitality services are in high demand. The students are given one year course and six months training in reputed training institutions free of cost. As state government assured 1 lakh job to the unemployed youths of the state, the Government of BTR is also taking the same steps to ensure job to unemployed youths,” he said, adding that almost cent percent students who were sent by the department got engagement in five star hotels in various cities of India and were drawing handsome salaries.
