Cachar Police seize smuggled gold biscuits near Silchar bypass

After a series of regular seizures of contraband drugs coming in from neighbouring states, the Cachar police now recovered a consignment of smuggled gold biscuits.

SILCHAR: After a series of regular seizures of contraband drugs coming in from neighbouring states, the Cachar police now recovered a consignment of smuggled gold biscuits. SSP Numol Mahatta on Monday said that based on reliable information regarding smuggling of suspected gold biscuits on Sunday, an operation was conducted near the Ramnagar bypass in Silchar. A police team recovered 3 suspected gold biscuits weighing about 439 grams. The items were recovered from the possession of a person named Khamneu Munluah (32 years) of Churachandpur, Manipur. The suspected gold biscuits were transported from Manipur and were supposed to be delivered somewhere near ISBT, Silchar.
