KOKRAJHAR: As per instruction received from the department of financial service of Ministry of Finance, Government of India and State Level Bankers' Committee of Assam, a credit outreach programme was organized to augment credit off-take in this festive season for all round economic development by the Chirang Lead District Manager (LDM) at the district parade ground of Kajalgaon on Wednesday.
The programme was organized with an emphasis for credit flow to Government Sponsored schemes like, Mudra, Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), PM Street Vendor's Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi), Stand-UP India(SUI), Atmanirbhar Bharat and other government led initiatives.
Attending as a chief guest of the programme, the Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah highlighted the need for credit flow to priority sector for the all-round development of the district as Chirang district is still one of the backward districts of Assam. He requested the public to maintain the credit discipline and make a habit of timely repayment of the loan. He requested the bank branches to extend credit facilities to the needy people for their economic development. He also requested the Lead District Manager (LDM) to generate public awareness on the various public oriented programmes of the banks.
The Regional Manager, State Bank India (SBI), Bongaigaon, GP Halder explained to the attending public about the various schemes of bank and skill training facility of the SBI and requested the public to avail such facilities. Alram Deori, District Development Manager, NABARD and Bikram Kalita, General Manager, District Industries and Commerce Centre, Chirang, explained in details the various schemes and facility available with their departments and urged the public to avail these facilities. On the occasion, a total of 286 loan proposals amounting to Rs.10.29 crores were sanctioned and distributed loan sanction letters to the borrowers by Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries. The programme, in which the objective of event was explained by Ranjit Narzary, LDM, Chirang, was also attended by other dignitaries like, Dwijendra Kachari, Assistant Director, Handloom and Textiles and Nakul Ch. Brahma, Director, RSETI, Chirang, including more than 300 various scheme aspirant public.
TEZPUR: Following a recent directive of the Union Finance Ministry to banks urging them to step up the credit outreach programme during the Dusherra and Diwali festivals, UCO Bank, which is the lead bank for Sonitpur district is going to arrange one Customer Credit Outreach Programme on October 30 at District Library, Tezpur.
