DIBRUGARH: Continuing with its yearlong golden jubilee celebration, Dibrugarh Press Club decided to start “Amar Alohi” (Our Guest) Chapter 1 on June 29.
The programme will be held at the Jagriti Hall, DRDA Office Complex, Dibrugarh from 3 pm. Prof Jogendra Nath Sarma, retired Prof of Applied Geology, Dibrugarh University, and a renowned personality with extensive research work on rivers, particularly the Brahmaputra river system, will be the first guest. He will give a PowerPoint presentation using an LCD Projector on “Mega dams on Yarlung Tsangpo and its concerns” - possible downstream impact in Assam, particularly in Dibrugarh and further downstream till Guwahati and Bangladesh. His deliberations will be followed by a question and answer session.
Dibrugarh Press Club, which is one of oldest and premier media organizations of Assam and North East, is celebrating its glorious Golden Jubilee with a yearlong programme which got underway in March.
