DIBRUGARH: The Eastern Command organized a mega Tri-Service Ex-Servicemen Rally at Polo Ground, Dibrugarh, under the theme “You Served with Honour, We Honour Your Service.”
The event reflected Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to welfare of veterans, veer naaris, and their families, embodying its ethos of gratitude and respect. The rally witnessed participation of over 3,000 veterans and their families, who were provided with a range of dedicated services, including: A comprehensive medical camp with specialist consultations, a support team led by CDA Guwahati for addressing pension-related issues, counters for resolving document anomalies, facilities for AADHAR and SPARSH registration and more.
The event was graced by Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, GOC Spear Corps, Maj Gen VS Deshpande, GOC Dao Division, and Damayanti Tambay, President of the War Widows Association of India, along with eminent civil dignitaries and senior military officials. Together, they reaffirmed the Army’s enduring gratitude for the sacrifices of veterans and their families.
In a heartfelt gesture, veer naaris and ex-servicemen were felicitated with tri-scooters, wheelchairs, sewing machines, and hearing aids, underscoring the Army’s dedication to their welfare. This rally stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s deep respect and commitment to those who served the nation with valor and honour.
