DIBRUGARH: The streets of Dibrugarh turned into a sea of emotions on Friday after thousands joined the ‘Moiu Zubeen, Amiu Zubeen’ (I am Zubeen, We are Zubeen) rally organized by the Dibrugarh district BJP, seeking justice for the Late legendary singer, Zubeen Garg.
Over thousands of members from BJP hit the streets of Dibrugarh holding banners, portraits, and placards bearing Zubeen’s face.
“Zubeen Garg’s death is a great loss for the cultural industry of Assam. His sudden demise has shocked the entire state. Everybody is depressed and seeking justice. Our Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is doing everything possible for justice in the Zubeen Garg case,” said State Cultural Minister Bimal Borah.
“The Opposition is trying to politicize the death of Zubeen Garg and everything possible to defame our party. They are trying to project that the government is not a real fan of Zubeen Garg,” Borah said.
Dibrugarh MLA and State Cabinet Minister Prasanta Phukan, State General Secretary of BJP Rituparna Baruah, DMC Chairman Dr Saikat Patra, and other BJP members were present during the rally.
