DHEKIAJULI: In a vibrant celebration of academic excellence, the Dhekiajuli unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized the Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das Best Vidyarthi Awards ceremony at Trimurti Bhawan on July 22. The prestigious awards were conferred upon students of the 2025 HS and HSLC batch who secured 60% and above in their final examinations.
The event witnessed the presence of over 300 result-oriented students from various educational institutions, including Resonance Senior Secondary School, Laxminath Bezbaruah Academy, Gravity Senior Secondary School, LOKD College, Dhekiajuli Boys’ HS School, Dhekiajuli Girls’ HS School, Netaji Vidyamandir HS School, and the neighbouring schools of the Dhekiajuli co-district.
Dyotibha Borah (ACS), Dhekiajuli Co-District Commissioner, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. In her address, she emphasized the value of systematic study and strong moral character for becoming responsible citizens of India. She assured the students that the commissioner’s office was open for all aspirants of ACS and ICS services and would extend all possible guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
Dr Sukdev Adhikari, Principal of LOKD College, attended as the chief guest. He stressed the importance of blending academic knowledge with good character and ethics. Speaking on the use of mobile phones by students, Dr Adhikari remarked, “Students may use mobile phones, but they must ensure that the phone does not start using them.” He lauded a tea tribe girl’s soulful rendition of a Borgeet during the function and praised the ABVP Dhekiajuli unit for organizing such motivational events that inspire the youth toward excellence.
