Minister Pijush Hazarika review post-flood rehabilitation, aid for 43,000 affected families in Sivasagar

Minister Pijush Hazarika reviewed Sivasagar’s post-flood rehabilitation measures, directing officials to ensure timely aid and ₹15,000 assistance for all eligible families.

SIVASAGAR: As per the direction of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, state Minister for Agriculture, Irrigation and Parliamentary Affairs Pijush Hazarika today chaired a review meeting on rehabilitation and other post-flood issues of Sivasagar district. The meeting was also attended by ministers Bimal Borah and Sushanta Borgohain, along with Nazira MLA Mayur Borgohain.

The ministers reviewed the progress of rehabilitation support being extended to flood-affected families and held detailed discussions with the district administration and circle officers on the implementation of the Government's rehabilitation initiatives. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing dewatering and floodwater removal operations in Sivasagar town, damage assessment, and other key post-flood measures to ensure timely assistance and rehabilitation of affected people.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that around 43,000 flood-affected families in the district have so far received the Rs 15,000 interim financial assistance provided by the Government of Assam. Minister Hazarika directed the district administration to ensure that all eligible flood-affected families receive the interim financial assistance without delay and that no deserving beneficiary is left out.
