Morigaon Police destroy drugs worth over Rs 3 crore on Anti-Drug Day

Morigaon police burnt drugs worth crores of rupees seized in various raids through departmental processes. The items destroyed at Oujari police reserve on the outskirts of Morigaon town

MORIGAON: Morigaon police burnt drugs worth crores of rupees seized in various raids through departmental processes. The items destroyed at Oujari police reserve on the outskirts of Morigaon town include 1,033 grams of heroin, 579 kilograms of marijuana, and 72 bottles of cough syrup. The value of the destroyed items is estimated at Rs 3,17,14,950. The programme was conducted in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Morigaon Deputy Superintendent of Police Pritam Saikia, Joint Director of Health Dr Arun Kumar Nath, Health Officer Dr Jaya Boro, and several other police officers and workers accompanied the Morigaon police as observers.
